Plum Estate of Kameido

The plum blossom is a flower regarded with especial fondness in Asia for centuries in the arts, and widely used as a symbol of good fortune. Expressive of enduring happiness, it has been traditionally used as a decorative symbol of congratulatory occasions.
Hiroshige is considered to be one of the greatest 19th century Japanese print artists and thought to have designed around 5400 prints. He is best known for his landscape prints known to have influenced western impressionists such as Van Gogh and Claude Monet.
